Guideline for changing RK chain
Chain is a consumable supply same as tire and brake pads.
Chain needs to be replaced every 20,000km for sealed ring chain, and every 5,000km for non-sealed ring chain.
Please replace the front and rear sprocket when replacing the chain.

Maintenance of RK Chain
Chain Maintenance Instruction Video
Both sealed ring chain and non-seal chain needs cleaning and lubrication for maintenance.Every riding a motorcycle 500km or after riding in a rain condition, please proceed the maintenance of RK chain for maintaining a proper chain life.
The chain life would be shorten when rain, snow, dust, antifreeze agent etc., are attached onto the chain. Please proceed the proper maintenance after attached those materials on the chain.
Please use RK genuine cleaner/lubricant or equivalent product in terms of keeping quality of the chain.
Please use a chain cleaner only for sealed ring chain. DO NOT use regular cleaner, which is not for sealed ring chain.
Please DO NOT use gasoline, kerosene, break cleaner, carburetor cleaner, or anti-rust lube as these would harm sealed ring and shorten the lifetime of the chain.

Please proceed the maintenance after stabilize the motorcycle at flat place.

Procedure of chain lubrication (when chain is not dirty)
- Shake chain lubricant for 5 seconds to mix the content well.
- Lubricate the chain from inside of the chain. Lubricate between outer plate and inner plate. Also, lubricate between inner plate and roller.
- Wipe off the lubricant well after lubrication is done.
- Spray a chain cleaner onto waste cloth for approximately 4 seconds to soak the cleaner onto.
- Wrapping up the chain with the waste cloth that the chain cleaner is soaked into, and draw the cloth well to clean the chain up.
- Make sure the cleaner is volatilized after cleaning up.
- Shake chain lubricant for 5 seconds to mix the content well.
- Lubricate the chain from inside of the chain. Lubricate between outer plate and inner plate. Also, lubricate between inner plate and roller.
- Wipe off the lubricant well after lubrication is done.
- Protect the motorcycle with waste cloth etc., from a cleaner.
- Spray the cleaner onto entire chain. When dirt comes up onto the chain, please spray more to clean the chain.
- If the dirt does not come off, use a brush such as used tooth brush to scrub off the dirt. In this situation, let the chain dry about 1 day.
- Shake chain lubricant for 5 seconds to mix the content well.
- Lubricate the chain from inside of the chain. Lubricate between outer plate and inner plate. Also, lubricate between inner plate and roller.
- Wipe off the lubricant well after lubrication is done.
